Two years ago I discovered facecharts. I went to the introduction day of Dutch Beauty Academy. A makeup artistry school in Amsterdam, and there she was: Liza Kondrevich. Back then I didn’t know her name but what I saw her doing with make up was epic! I stood there for an hour and a half with my mouth open watching her draw a face on a sheet of paper, with make up!! It was a lifelike face and it was perfect! I couldn’t take my eyes of Liza’s work. How did she do that? From that moment on I was a huge fan of her work. I followed her instagram page an when she announced her facechart workshop I immediately subscribed. The workshop was beyond expectations. Liza teached me the basics on how to make a good facechart.

M.A.C. Cosmetics
After my make up artistry education I started working at M.A.C. Cosmetics. And that meant: unlimited access to blank facecharts! Whoohoo! I worked on my skills every day. I checked the instagram pages of Liza, but also of Sonya Miro and Milk1422. Everything to train my skills and get new inspiration.
Then one day Liza came to my shop and proudly I showed her my own facechart portfolio. She grabbed my eraser and started erasing parts of my latest facechart. “This must be highlighted. And this too. You see what I mean?” She said,”I can see you’re getting better each time. But keep in mind it is 90% practice and only 10% talent. So keep practicing.” I could only nod.

Facechart Book of the Facechart Queen
Now I quit working at M.A.C. Cosmetics to start my own company. So I don’t have unlimeted access to the blank facecharts anymore. So a while ago I send Liza a dm on instagram and asked her if I could buy facecharts from her. She answered: “Wait for just one day! Tomorrow is the launch of my new book and with it tons of new facecharts!” Wow! How exciting!! I almost couldn’t wait till tomorrow! But my patience was rewarded! Liza launched her book, online masterclasses and TEN different facechart templates! Could it get any better?! I was so happy!
Working on my skills
So in the coming period I will work on my skills with Liza’s book as my guidance. I shall take you with me through the process. By the way, how do you like the progress now? Huge difference right? Have you made a facechart already? Leave a comment below!
